I think I've discovered a path I would like to take towards a doctorate. I'm reading "I am a Strange Loop," and I discovered that Hofsteadter teaches at Indiana university. More and more, I'm really fascinated by cognitive science, and I think I would enjoy studying it for a very long time. After all, there's always more to discover!
Rick advises me that IU is one of the most difficult schools to get into for Cognitive Science, so I need to really make myself impressive over the next couple of years in order to be up to snuff. It would probably be a good idea to talk with someone at the university itself to get an idea of what they actually expect and what avenue I should take.
